Today, Elms Farm is run by the Brown family who have a long heritage of managing farms in both Nottinghamshire & Leicestershire from as far back as the 1700s. Chris' grandfather bought Elms Farm in 1951 for himself and future generations of Browns. As a family they are passionate about sharing their way of life with other people so they too can learn about animal husbandry & care of the countryside.

Chris is highly-experienced in both countryside management & shooting and offers private shooting tuition tailored to his student's needs. His specialisms include troubleshooting, double gunning and tuition in side by sides.

Jenny has an exceptional knowledge of equine sports and has worked in the equestrian industry for over 25 years. She has ridden and competed on a wide variety of horses and now enjoys competing in Dressage. Jenny specialises in dressage training and can also teach people general ridiing for all levels & disciplines.

Together with their son and daughter, Chris & Jenny are the third generation of Browns at Elms Farm. They are a family that is devoted to the land and making their farm a real asset to the local community. Their son Oscar is following in his parents’ footsteps and is currently studying agriculture at Harper Adams. He enjoys working on the farm and is an integral part of the team when back from Uni.

Their daughter Molly is enjoying increasing success in equestrian competitions especially in eventing. In 2017 she was long listed to represent Great Britain in Eventing on her pony Ifan.

Elms Farm also has its own farm butchery which is gaining in reputation weekly. Our butcher, Philip Thatcher, is the man to speak to about any pig matters, butchery sales & events and is a Finalist for National Retailer/Producer in the 2018 National Pig Awards.
