Windmill Cottage was initially rebuilt as stables and the Costock Pony Stud was built on the windmill site. It flourished for many years, producing Welsh ponies until the stables were then renovated into the cosy cottage it is today.

 

Windmill Cottage consists of a comfortable double bedroom with a kingsize bed and ensuite shower room, a lounge and fully stocked kitchenette – including a cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Guests can enjoy a quiet country getaway and explore the surrounding countryside of the local area or use it as a quiet base instead of a faceless hotel. If you are travelling as a young family there is enough space for a travel cot and we have a single fold-away bed available.

This is the perfect accommodation if you’re looking for a couple's getaway. 

We can also supply all our cottage guests with an Elms Farm welcome hamper filled with delicious local produce to enjoy during your stay.

Booked a couple of days before arriving and were given their Windmill Cottage which was just perfect for us.
With lambs and cattle in the adjacent fields and nothing but green hills to look at we felt instantly relaxed.
The bed was so comfortable and the farm provided everything needed to make our stay hassle free.
The breakfast provided at the farm house was wonderful and the couple who own the farm were extremely helpful and told wonderful stories about how they are transforming the farm little by little.
Walking distance to the local village pub which has a great selection of gins you could easily spend a few days here and be happy!

Our award winning Farm and Butchers shop is just meters away from your cottage. We have delicious products from the farm, as well as our own beef and lambs, farm milk and free range eggs, fresh bread, dairy products, British cheeses, cakes and much more. 

We can supply all our guests an Elms Farm welcome hamper filled with delicious local produce to enjoy during your stay.

Neighbourhood description

We are set in a rural location nestled in between Costock and East Leake. There is a local pub in Costock called The Generous Britton and there are also a selection of shops and restuarants in East Leake, all within a 10 minute walk. There is a bus route going to Loughborough and Nottingham just a 10 minute walk away.

All of our cottages come with a detailed and complete booklet with days in/out for the whole family, local activities, places to visit, nice walks (with details for dogs, disabled & puschairs friendly, toilets, etc), best places to eat, and much more. There is so much to do locally, you won't be bored!
